Electromagnetic Tests

The non-destructive electromagnetic testing (ET) method is a testing method that uses electromagnetic signals to detect anomalies in materials. There are several electromagnetic techniques, such as the application of eddy currents, remote field tests and measurement of the alternating current field.

The measurement recorded in electromagnetic tests is based on the magnetic fields generated and induced in the material examined. The most used method is the Eddy current method, because it allows the identification of different conditions of both metallic and non-metallic materials.
