Industrial Ultrasound

Industrial ultrasound is a non-destructive testing method used to evaluate metallic and non-metallic materials using acoustic impedance. This method is based on the phenomenon of reflection of acoustic waves, which occurs when they encounter discontinuities when propagating. Industrial ultrasound is one of the volumetric non-destructive tests, and is used to detect thicknesses, corrosion areas, defects and manufacturing processes of parts and tubes.

The method is based on acoustic impedance, manifested as a consequence of the maximum speed of sound propagation in the density of a material. The test is carried out by applying ultrasonic waves, which allow a wide range of operations to be carried out, from sealing and welding to cutting and cleaning. Industrial ultrasound is an advanced technology that has revolutionized various processes in modern industry.
