Phased Array Ultrasound

Phased array industrial ultrasound (PAUT) is an advanced ultrasound technique used for defect detection, sizing, and imaging. In this technique, a rapid succession of different components is fired that generate ultrasound beams that can be deflected, focused, or scanned electronically.

The inspection is carried out simultaneously from different angles, generating significant savings and producing results that can be recorded, for further analysis or for use in future inspections. This technique has a multitude of applications, including weld quality inspections, generation of corrosion maps or inspections of composite materials and components with complex geometry. Thanks to its precise scanning planning and the possibility of deflecting the beams, the probability of detecting defects increases, while inspection times are reduced to a minimum.
